Fancy Food Box August 2013 Review

IMG_2873

The BoxFancy Food Box sends out amazing gourmet artisan foods every month! Full sized items, and all things that you wouldn’t normally buy in the store. This was my very first box and I am already obsessed. It’s full of such great foods!!! Yayyyy!

IMG_2874

cost $39/month, + shipping costs (mine is $7.95). Yes, this is a pretty pricey box, the most expensive one I’ve ever tried, BUT I love food, especially fun new discoveries that I would never have seen before! So worth it 🙂

the goods Included is an envelope with some silly stickers & also cards about each product selected for this month’s box, along with a couple recipes using ingredients in the box! I will use the descriptions on the cards to explain the products 🙂

Whats inside
IMG_2877

1 • Bodum Brazil French Press
$29.00
“All you need to brew an excellent cup of coffee is hot water & your favorite ground beans.”
So excited to try this out! I’ve been wanting one but never got around to actually buying myself one, so I was ecstatic to see this included in my first box! Check out the french press here.

2 • Dang Toasted Coconut Chips
$6.00
“Made from the nutrient-packed, high-fiber copra, these chips go great atop yogurt and salads and can be enjoyed as a snack on their own.”
These are so healthy and should be good, I just really don’t like coconut flavor and I’m sure these are going to be very coconutty considering that’s what they are haha. Check out the chips here.

3 • J & M Original Cheese Straws
$6.40
“These crispy, crunchy, savory treats are baked to perfection with just the right amount of spices.”

$10.00
“A unique non-alcoholic bloody mary mix that incorporates traditional flavors with UBONS BBQ sauce.”
I am SOOOO excited to try this!! It looks so amazing and I love the branding and the fact that it’s BBQ flavored! Nom nom nom! Check out the mix here.

5 • Umami Dust
$10.05
“Add some savory splendor (the “fifth taste”) to any of your favorite foods, from chips and popcorn to meats & veggies. Go wild!”
I tried this already on some cucumbers instead of the usual salt, and it was really good! It has a delicious, unique lemony salty flavor. And of course it’s better for ya than regular salt! Check out the umami dust here.

“Simple and delicious. A sweet complement to coffee or tea.”
I’m not big on lemon flavored things, but hopefully these will be a perfect office snack! Check out the cookie straws here.

• My favorites in this box are definitely the french press and the bloody mary mix! So excited to try them both! Also the cheese straws and candy will be great for office snacks, and the seasoning is an excellent/more healthy alternative to salt.

losers Since I’m not a big coconut fan, the toasted coconut chips is the biggest loser in my box. 😦 I’m sure I can find someone who will appreciate these more than I do! Other than these, I am excited to try basically everything!

I’M ALREADY LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH’S BOX!!!!

all love & smiles,
