Sunlight.

It is so so so nice when I actually get to be home when there’s sunshine.
Everything in my house looks brighter, and I get in a certain mode where I want to be productive.
Sitting on my couch over the weekend reading magazines in direct sunlight is where it’s at.
Watching the kittys lay and be crazy in sunbeams is the best.
Getting to take actual pictures in natural light is also one of the greatest parts.

Sadly, working from 8:30-5 (especially during this fall/winterish season) doesn’t allow me to see enjoy the sun at all.
I wake up in the darkness all cold and miserable NOT ready to start getting ready for depressing work.
I take the annoying CTA home in the darkness, so when I actually get back there’s no way I feel like cleaning or organizing or doing anything productive that the natural light usually makes me feel perky about.
I realized that this is part of the reason that it seems like EVERYTHING else sucks during the day; it’s cold, windy, and gross outside, and I’m trapped inside the tallest building in Chicago an office at my little desk where I have no freedom to really do anything but get some crazy rage on when I talk to legitimate helpless idiots all day long.

ALAS, the one day of the week where I have to work the “late” shift (from 10:30-7) I get to wake up to the bf coming home from work (he works the midnight shift), and then slowly get ready while the sun is rising higher and brighter in the sky… it’s absolutely wonderful.
It is seriously crazy how much better of a mood I’m in on these late shift days where I get to spend time in the sun in the morning, not feeling like I’m just living in cold darkness.

That being said, it is currently 25 degrees here right now, and I absolutely loathe Chicago’s winter weather because it is seriously the windiest place ever in the City and of course that’s where I do all of my walking…. I am not excited about that, but the fact that I have my sunshine this morning can probably make up for it : )

Now I have to try and keep my positive vibes going as long as humanly possible, which for me in my job probably means about 45 minutes into sitting at my desk.
Not looking forward to staying until 7 tonight, but at least I got my natural sunlight this morning to keep me happy for half my day.

Thank you Sun, for shining so bright and making me feel productive!!!!!! : )
So blessed to be living this life.

all love & smiles,

Best New Music Tuesday of All Time.

Today, two of my favorite artists released new albums that I have been not so patiently waiting for for MONTHS. Finally, the day has come!! Eminem and Avril Lavigne. On the same day. On the way home from work today we had to of course stop at Best Buy so I could get the physical copy of the CD’s (picked up these both and then also Katy Perry’s new CD because I’m a week behind on that one!).

Soooo I shall be off listening to these new CD’s for probably months on repeat in my car… Perfection 🙂

avril_lavigne_album_a_p

Avril’s new self-titled album. The best part of the entire album: the fact that NUMBER EIGHT 8!!! (which I’m obsessed with) is called Hello Kitty and it’s a crazy EDM mashup with her saying MEOWWWW and it’s just so weird and strange and perfect for me. Made me smile and was the first song we loved from the album!

the-marshall-mathers-lp-2-eminem

and OF COURSE, the best of them all… Eminem. I have always loved his music so much and I am sooooo excited that this entire album already sounds amazing. It’s full of excellent new songs with old beats and just make to his amazing ways of rapping. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! ❤

happy listening,

Spoiled Rotten October 2013 Box Review

IMG_3621

Spoiled Rotten is a subscription box for your pets (cats OR dogs) from the pet food delivery company, PetFlow.com. This was my first box from them and I COULD NOT BE MORE HAPPY WITH IT!!! I have been searching for an amazing kitty box (because almost all the pet boxes I see are only for dogs) and since I have 3 kittys at home and they seem to be obsessed and curious about all my other boxes I open, I just knew I needed a service that sent me new treats and toys and food and fun for my little bubbas.

IMG_3622

Spoiled Rotten is only $24.99/month, and you can get $5 off your first month with the code SRB9 soooo only $20 bucks for a great box that literally made my kittys go crazy!

IMG_3623

It came with a card that covered the descriptions of everything in the box, not to mention how nicely wrapped everything was! This is the way they describe the box: “Every edible product is MADE IN THE USA. All products are made by premium companies and each box is stuffed with almost $40 worth of products for $24.99 a month. This is the best way to make their tails wag and discover brand new, amazing products from amazing companies that love your pet as much as you do.”

This toy made my cats absolutely CRAZY. It is self propelled by pulling the string and then it kinda slithers a bit. All my kittys were attacking it but also very scared every time it moved. GREAT toy : )

This was my first Best Friend Box and I couldn’t be more pleased with the items included. It was wrapped up all nice and since there were toys included with cat nip, my cars were LITERALLY going CRAZY all around this box trying to get inside and see what was all in there. There was a card included with descriptions of all the products.

This paper was just in the box and apparently was just touching one of the cat nip toys and my cats were going crazy rolling around on the paper and biting at it… love that my cats don’t even need toys to be excited, they can just eat at the cat nip covered cards! haha
