Bears vs. Ravens – Epic Monsoon Game

Back a few Sundays ago, on November 17th, the Chicago Bears
played the Baltimore Ravens. And an epic game it was. Not because of the actual
sport itself, but because of the crazy rain/tornado weather that we got to
be a part of… Normally I would never wish to be stuck outside
in a huge, crazy storm, bigger than anything I have ever
seen before in person, but that Sunday was completely amazing.

Even though we were soaking wet and we were stuck in the stands
because the hallways were too full of people in the biggest clusterfuck I have
ever seen in my life, it was still a fantastic time! Before the game,
the weather was beautiful, no coat was even necessary! We had a great
time at the tail-gate, and then an even more adventurous crazy time
during the game of the lifetime. ALSO THE BEARS ENDED UP WINNING
SO THAT WAS GREAT TOO!!! wooo woooooo!!!

Cheers to the craziest game I have ever been to in my life.
And probably ever.

We started out in sunshine, drinking & eating away…..

Before leaving for the game, we wanted to make sure to stay prepared
for the crazy storm ahead, so my mom got us these fantastic
bright yellow Breaking Bad-esque rain suits. Me & Michael loved these!
{they seriously kept us dry throughout the entire monsoon!!!}

When we were TRYING to evacuate from our seats, we were
pretty hysterical from the beer, the laughing, the meer fact that
we were LITERALLY getting buckets of rain dumped on our
heads and the wind was so crazy I could have blown away…
We still kept smiles on our face and made the best of it!

That last one was my mom trying to take a pic of me & dad…. hahaha : )

So glad I got to be part of a historical game for the Chicago Bears!!! Wooooo let’s go!

all love & smiles,

Meet Dexter.

This is our adorable new kitten Dexter. He is SO TINY, much tinier than when we got Aria, so it’s crazy getting used to such a tiny little munchkin of a kitten! He has all adorable brothers & sisters so it was kinda hard to pick one out, but Dexter literally ran out and started meowing at us as soon as we got there!!! It was like he was choosing us! haha too precious! :]

Now Charles & Aria finally have the third friend they’ve been waiting for…. :]

Fennville, MI + Sounds of Saugatuck

I’m finally getting around to it now, but last weekend I went on a fun little trip to my friend’s cottage in Michigan for a music bar crawlish experience in Saugatuck, and some relaxing, wine tasting, and shopping. I was a little overwhelmed at first because I accidentally took 102 pictures, but I’m excited to now re-live (document) our super fun weekend! :]

• On our way to Fennville, we stopped for dinner at a fabulous brewery called Greenbush Brewing Co. It was SO DELICIOUS! I got a grilled cheese w/ jalapeños & tomatoes and a delicious beer called Loud Mouth Soup. I think I only wanted it because of the name, but it was still amazing and hid a nice amount of alcohol content in that one little ol’ beer. So that was a plus :] I was mad that I wasn’t brave enough to take a nice picture of the beer menu sign because it was super colorful and unique. Oh well, this blurry one will have to suffice. Next time I’m driving up to Michigan, I will be sure to stop back here again! Everyone was so friendly, the food was delicious, and the beer was fantastic!

• We planned on getting to her cottage, starting a campfire, and drinking some beers…. buuuuut plans changed when we got word from her parents that the house was flooded. And we had to rip out all the carpets. And move all the furniture…. It actually wasn’t too bad because there were 5 of us able to help out, so we got it all done in a couple of hours. Wasn’t the first night any of us were expecting, but it made for an interesting night.

• Woke up to a delicious breckie.
• Took the dog for a nice, long walk where I discovered 7582058 houses I want to own. This super long amazing blue one was my favorite.

sat morn

• That afternoon… we biked to the Fenn Valley Winery! I had never been to one before so wasn’t sure what to expect…. It was pretty awesome! We got to sample 6 wines, then we picked our favorite, bought ourselves a couple bottles, and went outside on the patio to drink & sit in the sun. It is literally my definition of a fabulous afternoon. I also found a kitty & ate random meat snacks, so it was amazing. Oh, and the drunky bike ride back was also quite excellent. :]

• That evening, we got ready, had some Jell-O shots, and were on our way to bar hop around the town for the Sounds of Saugatuck. Basically we drank at random bars and heard some great musicians. {We also danced on the piano top, sang karaoke, and randomly sang with the band at one of the bars… buuuuuut those were some brave points!!} We had a great group of 7, and we all seemed to have too so much fun!! The next morning, my body was sore from dancing and jumping around like a madwoman. It was such a long (we went out at 6:30 and didn’t even get home until almost 2 I believe), eventful, fantastic night :] And of course when we got back to the house we chowed down on tons of junk food. Typical.

The first bar we went to was called Zing. The decor was SOOOO awesome, I was obsessed. All leopard and cheetah print with vibrant colors. I was in love. Next time, I want to go back there and have dinner. We all had a round of Bloody Mary’s, they were delish.

Then the rest of the night was a blur of multiple bars, singing, and dancing. Lots and lots of dancing, aka jumping around and singing at the top of my lungs.

• Ordered super yummy breckie sandwiches that we enjoyed outside in the backyard by the lake :]

• Later after we got our hang overs in control, we went shopping in the lovely little town of Saugatuck (exactly where we were the night before at all the bars, but it looked a lot different in the day and I appreciated it so much more!) I was obsessing over those colorful yarn wrapped hangers, I was so tempted to buy all these amazing home made salsas and jams, those little tiny spice mixing bowl things were sooo adorable and small, of course I wanted a kitty shirt, and there was an entire store DEVOTED to Christmas. That entire wall is full of Christmas tree ornaments. It was oh so magical. I love shopping around in little fun, trendy towns like this. Such a great time :]

shop shop2 shop3

• Lastly, we got some late lunch at a delicious restaurant called The Mermaid Bar & Grill. It was right on the edge of the water, so it was super pretty to look outside and see all the pretty sailboats and such. I got an amazingly delicious Portabella Mozzarella sandwich with pesto mayo. The pesto mayo= amazingess in my mouth. It was a great end to our little trip :]

Such a great time :] I love getting away from Chicago to smaller towns where things are a bit slower and people are generally a bit nicer haha.

Happy Memories: Disney {Part II}

Yayyy I’m almost done going through all my Disney pictures from last summer! My first post on the Florida trip is here, so now onto the second installment of my wonderful memories and pictures!!! hahah :]

We had SO MUCH FUN in the Animal Kingdom. Both of us are crazy for animals as it is, plus many of our all time favorite movies are with animals too (Lion King, Bug’s Life, Finding Nemo, etc.)! We went on most of the rides/attractions and had a fantastic “safari pizza” lunch… super delicious, and of course the entire day was super fun! We got really tired from the heat and walking around the park, but thankfully we always went right when the park opened, so by the time it got super hot in the middle of the day, we were all ready to head back to the hotel and enjoy the pool and drinks! ;]

Afterwords, back to the pool for plenty of free cocktails (we had those resort food/drink vouchers) and a great time going down the water slides and swimming around with my new underwater camera! Then that night we went back to Downtown Disney to stroll around, do some shopping, eat some ice cream, and feed some duckies :]

Even though all morning long I sit at my computer applying to job after job after job and it gives me a headache if I even have to look at the computer 1 more second longer, when I think about going through happy pictures of mine and being able to edit and pictures and have a little fun posting about them, I can’t help but remain at the computer! It makes me so happy to be able to go through these amazing memories… definitely a great pick me up for my days!!!

This was my freshmen year at St. Ambrose, and we had suuuuuch a great time. First off, I walked into my room with my roomie’s bf (we had just gone out to get beer haha) and the girls surprised me with an amazing Playboy cookie cake… with trick candles. I blew them all out…. and the fire alarm started going off. hahah I have an awesome video of it but I can’t get it to upload on here, it’s hilarious we’re all just running around trying to bat the smoke away and hide the beer and tell the RA that it was an accident all at one time. Such a cluster. But awesome.
ALSO: I got my tattoo!!!!!!

Happy Memories: Disney {Part I}

Last summer, I tagged along with Michael to his National Championship volleyball tourny. I got to spend 10 days in beautiful Florida, in Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, fo freeee! It was amazing! We also had tons of free food vouchers, so that is why we ate an insane amount of food. It was super amazing and I can’t wait to go back!!! :]
This was the first trip that I took where I didn’t leave the airport at the crack of dawn, so we didn’t arrive in Florida until late at night…. Needless to say, I wasn’t a very happy camper…

BUT THEN, we got on Disney’s Magical Express and all the great fun started!!! I’ll start my happy reminiscing with some of our meals, our Epcot visit, and other fun times :]

Happy Memories: Cozumel

Back in November, me and the bf went to beautiful Cozumel, Mexico. I had purchased a Groupon for a 4 night stay at the El Cozumeleño resort, and it was absolutely beautiful. The resort, the view, the room, the ocean, the games, the food, the staff, it was all oh so wonderful :]

DSC_7853random2 random random4

There were so many cute and fun things around the resort… I was most excited to go out on the jet ski’s though!!!

Me and Michael like to be pretty competitive with each other even though he beats me at basically everything… EXCEPT I can beat him at mini golf and they had an awesomely cute little course right on the beach, it was so fun! I also won BINGO for the first time ever!!! I was so happy, I won that cute little shell bracelet :]

food2 food1 in town shoppinh

We ate SO MUCH FOOD!!! For snacks, we would eat giant plates of nachos and guac… and when I asked for extra pico one time, I got a little side of pickles… how cute. hahaha Also, Michael bought that Chicago Bears pancho… because when you’re in Mexico, why not? He also loveddddd his super bright sunglasses, and I was so happy to find a cute little Starbucks on the strip :]
